Silly, fun things that made me happy to make because designing is fun
This is a small smattering of design projects that aren’t *strategic* nor did they *move the needle*, but I love trying out different design styles to learn new skills and find ways to connect with others through design.
So that’s what these are! Enjoy ☺︎
designing to delight
In early 2020, when the pandemic was at its peak and everyone was learning how hard it was to truly isolate, I found myself needing a combination of things: a creative outlet, a way to process a new way of life (and work), and connection.
It was around this time that I realized that I wanted to create things that were silly, relatable, and not within the confines of my 9-5 brand work. You can check out these (and more!) in my Etsy Shop ☺︎
*make it pop*
I created these fun award certificates as a surprise for my Optoro Design Teammates for our end-of-year strategy session. Our team went through a lot of transformation in 2019 and, as one of two team leads, I wanted to create an opportunity to celebrate each person and what made them unique.
It was also a chance for me to break away from designing only within the Optoro brand and do a bit of hands-on design exploration for myself.
great scott!
Optoro hosted an 80s-themed party to celebrate one of their subsidiary brands, BULQ — aka BULQ to the Future — and I was asked to design a series of posters to bring the theme to life.
BULQ’s box design is iconic in the liquidation and reselling communities, so I reached back into my “designing 80s nostalgia” experience and found some fun ways to tie the two together.
